Arthrocentesis and injections of soft tissue are simple procedures that offer important diagnostic and therapeutic benefits. With practical knowledge of joint anatomy, a minimum of supplies and equipment, and sufficient practice, these skills can be mastered. This workshop curriculum teaches technique for aspiration and injection of the knee, shoulder, wrist, and hip, while providing practice using joint injection models (not included). The program is designed for physicians who may have had some training in joint and soft tissue injections, but who do not routinely perform arthrocentesis. It is the first step in building the technical proficiency necessary to use this procedure on patients.
The module includes: a course syllabus, a demonstration DVD, a PowerPoint presentations of diagnostic and procedural information with speaker's notes, and participant handouts including, a quick reference procedural cue card, lists of medications and dosages, post-procedural instructions for patients, an evaluation form, and bibliography.
**Joint injection models for practice sessions are not included in this product, however, information is provided regarding rental or purchase of these injection models from various vendors.
